Choosing an MBA Program

Where you spend the next two years of your life pursuing an MBA is a major decision. Our graduates did not choose their business schools solely on the basis of MBA program rankings. Some picked their school based on closeness to home or business; some received scholarships; some had areas of special interest in which the chosen school excelled; some simply loved the school's culture and philosophy and knew that they belonged.

We suggest that you start researching MBA programs 6-8 months before you apply, giving yourself ample time to understand and evaluate relevant factors before deciding where to apply. Remember, if a business school seems a good fit for you, chances are the school will likewise find that you are a good fit for its program.

"I was just accepted into the EMBA program I was targeting and Dr. Amar's course from the Austin GMAT Review was instrumental in helping me get the GMAT score I needed.

After deciding to apply, I knew I needed help for the GMAT. I'm 41 and took as little math as possible even in college. I opted for the twice-a-week condensed course to fit my "cramming" study style.

Dr. Amar's (very) small group format provided one on one instruction that went well beyond my expectations. I felt like I had a coach or an adviser. The 47 hours advertised turned out to be an understatement as most sessions went long to make sure all students felt comfortable with the material."
