Last Chance for 2015: Fall MBA Admissions Events in Texas

If you’re heading for Round 2 MBA application deadlines, take a quick detour from your GMAT studies to run over to an MBA admissions event in Austin, Houston, or Dallas. These events can be excellent opportunities to meet admissions officers and alumni, and hear more about their MBA programs.
I’ve listed some of the upcoming MBA admissions events below. Once autumn is over, and admissions officers head back to campus to review applications and interview candidates, there will be fewer opportunities to meet with them in Texas until the next recruiting season. So, just go!

Berkeley-Haas, Cornell Johnson, Darden School of Business, Duke Fuqua, Michigan Ross, NYU Stern, and Yale SOM are hosting a series of events throughout the U.S., excellent opportunities to talk at some length with admissions officers from these top-ranking schools.

Service Academy Career Conference (SACC) – San Antonio
Thursday, November 19 – Friday, November 20
The SACC is aimed at military service academy graduates (U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point) who are members of their alumni associations. This event offers the opportunity to not only meet with employers but also with business schools that are recruiting from the military.
Participating schools include Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business, Purdue University's Krannert School of Management, the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management, the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business, University of Tennessee's Haslam College of Business, University of Washington’s Foster School of Business, and Vanderbilt Owen. Texas business schools represented include the Baylor MBA, the Rice MBA program, University of Houston's C.T. Bauer College of Business (Bauer MBA), and UT McCombs’ the Texas MBA program.
The registration deadline is November 2, 2015, and registration is $40.
If you are not a member of the military, and you wish to meet one of these schools in San Antonio, I suggest that you contact school admissions to make a special request for a meeting.
There really is no substitute for face-to-face interaction. If you want to put yourself in the running for a slot at the top business schools, go meet their representatives.
